A 10,000 sq.m 9-hole golf course in the Oltre Adige valley, between Merano and Bolzano, where green areas alternate with small lakes. In this area, apple orchards and noble vineyards surround enchanting castles overlooking the South Tyrolean mountains.
Golf & Country, along the wine road in Appiano, is South Tyrol’s golf and hospitality temple.
Environmental sustainability – sustainable water management, no use of pesticides, electric mobility – is a natural choice in this scenery.
Both the golf club and the restaurant use renewable energy. That’s why, since the end of 2020, the hotel has been using a 600 sq.m photovoltaic roof generating up to 140 kW.
This system was designed and installed by GruenEnergy High Tech Solution
based in Appiano in partnership with Opa Engineering srl based Conegliano (Treviso). The installation took two months, meaning 20 working days.
This installation uses FuturaSun’s Next 330W monocrystalline photovoltaic modules.
This choice was based on technological and aesthetic criteria. FuturaSun’s modules with a black frame allowed them to comply with the authorising body’s provisions, which required minimum environmental impact since the Lodge roof is visible from the surrounding mountains. This detail is the demonstration of how the FuturaSun range can meet the most demanding architectural requirements.
FuturaSun’s photovoltaic roof covers about 25% of the overall consumption. However, Golf & Country is already planning to become completely self-sufficient in the future.
They have already started a self-consumption monitoring system to assess system expansion. The plan includes the installation of photovoltaic shelters to cover Tesla and Alperia charging stations. For example, the new hypercharger has a power up to 150 W, three times a standard fast-charge station for electric cars.
